Our family of four (with 2 kids ages 8 and 10) booked a full day tour to first visit Tenorio national park, followed by tubing in the afternoon. I booked this in advance over email and from the start Marlon was very informative and a pleasure to deal with. Our driver and guide for Tenorio was Carlos. He was polite, friendly and very knowledgeable. He let us set the pace, and as well as the beautiful falls (we were lucky to visit on a sunny day so they were bright blue) he found us two different types of snakes, a family of coati, a couple of different lizards and many birds to view. He kept us all engaged for the whole hike. This was followed by lunch at a soda just down the road. Our food had been ordered on the way to the park, so it was only a short wait at the restaurant. It was all very tasty, plus we were able to use the rest rooms to change for tubing. Our guide for the tubing was Jimmy and he was such fun to be around. He never seemed to tire of 'rescuing' us when we got stuck on the rocks and entertained everyone with his joking around. My kids loved the overhangs he found for them to jump in to the river from, and the encouragement he gave them. We were in Costa Rica for over 2 weeks, and visited many different national parks/ took part in many different activites but this was over all our favourite day.
